Oh To Be Free

So yesterday I got to stay home part of the day because we had a work thing in the middle of the day "off campus" that I had to attend. It was so nice to be able to get up, take my time, take the kids to daycare, run some errands and then get to the work thing. I have to say the work thing was quite enjoyable. Then I got to leave and go and pick up my girls. I LOVE BEING ABLE TO PICK UP MY GIRLS. There is nothing like walking through the doors of daycare and hear your oldest go "MOMMY!"

The thing is...I had to come back to work today. I had to come back to the daily grind of gridlock traffic and drama. Oh and there is so much work drama right now, so much to make you just want to walk in and slap someone right off the bat because the day is going to be bad anyway.

How I envy the stay at home mom. How I envy the fact that you get to get up in the morning and actually stay in your PJs while you read the paper or maybe have breakfast with the kids. How I envy not having to put on makeup if you don't want to because you know what your kids love you with or without the makeup. How I envy the stay at home mom that has a side career of being crafty and making things you love.

One day that will be me. I may be 80 before it happens but I will stay home because I can.
